The Cuyahoga Valley Genealogical Society is proud to support the activities of the Cuyahoga County Lineage Group (CCLG). In fact, several CVGS members have filed successful applications proving their descendency from early residents of Cuyahoga County.
The Cuyahoga County Lineage Group is organized to recognize genealogists who have ancestors who settled in Cuyahoga County at various periods in the county’s history. There are three lineage categories in the CCLG and you can search for mention of an ancestor in the online index of the names listed in the successful applications.
The lineage society, Cuyahoga County Pioneers, was launched in 2004 for those who can prove descendency from an ancestor residing in Cuyahoga County before 31 December 1850. To view the current listing use this link Cuyahoga County Pioneers.
In 2006, an additional program, Cuyahoga County Settlers, has been launched for those who can prove descendency from an ancestor residing in Cuyahoga County before 31 December 1880. For a current listing use this link Cuyahoga County Settlers.
