"The Great Lakes Exposition of 1936-1937" presented by Doug Kusak

  • 6363 Selig Drive Independence, OH, 44131 United States (map)

The biggest party Cleveland has ever seen was held on a lakefront garbage dump! In the midst of the Great Depression, Cleveland decided to hold itself a massive 100th birthday party, and everyone was invited to celebrate our industrial might. Historical Interpreter Doug Kusak from Cleveland Metroparks takes an irreverent look at how trashy things got, and how great it was for the city of Cleveland. History and gossip abound.
